Famara bungalow testimonials

See what recent guests have to say about their holidays in the bungalow

We enjoyed ourselves enormously - as you know we've stayed in Famara a lot - probably about 10 different bungalows - yours was by far and away the best and we wouldn't dream of going elsewhere in the future - in fact we're quite anxious in case you get booked up before we sort ourselves out ready for next time! Anything less would now be a disappointment - our expectations have rocketed. As far as we're concerned Famara is paradise on Earth and we can't wait to get back.

Best wishes
Vicki & Rob

"We stayed at Lynne´s bungalow in Famara during December 2008 & made the most of a well maintained, delightful property & garden. The owners live adjacently & are friendly & discreet.
The beach is a delight at all times of the day & in all weathers ( but especially at sunset). The village is very laid back & quiet & the charming restaurant El Sol does great grilled fish on the seafront terrace.
We would recommend this villa to anyone who wants to escape the crowd & enjoys comfort while chilling out in a fantastic setting"

"Famara and the appartment is the best of two words. For the ones looking to break away from noise, commercial civilization and crowds, this corner of the word offers a breathtaking and peaceful nature that reenergizes your heart and soul. The view of the bay and the mountains around it, the nearly deserted beach combined with uncompromised Canarian fishing village give you an outstanding relaxation setting.

For the ones, that do need the rush of the civilization, exciting touristic spots, everything is less than 45 minutes away. Be it top fashion stores, volcanic scenery, crowded vacation towns with restaurants and bars, it is all within short driving distance.

The real estate is fabulous, the apartment is of high quality, well furbished, yet still very homey. The private garden is spacious, with a breathtaking view. The hosts are on the top floor, providing you assistance when needed and privacy at all times."

Excellent holiday adress! The home is far more atractive than the pretty pictures portray and the owners are caring and friendly. We would like to be their guests again.

We recommend it to anyone who wishes to get away from it all in a quiet scenic surrounding.

We had such a wonderful week in Lynne's apartment, now back in damp and chilly England it seems dream-like to remember that just a few weeks ago we were running on the beach and swimming in the sea! Our 3 small kids (two 5-year-olds and a 3-year-old) had a ball both when we were relaxing at the apartment and when exploring the beach and further afield. The apartment is well stocked with DVD's and videos for "down-time" and the garden is great for pottering about and bouncing on the trampoline, of course. Famara beach is breathtakingly beautiful, and perfect on a calm day. Just miles of sand, sea and sky, with a mountain back-drop... Windy days sent us exploring other beaches (nowhere on the island is more than a half-hour drive, and the drives themselves are picturesque), but I can imagine if we had teenagers into water sports we would have been glued to Famara beach day after day, as its renowned for surfing and kite-surfing etc. One day we went down to Playa Blanca, which was pleasant but SO touristy, full of Irish pubs and restaurants offering English breakfasts and Karaoke... we were delighted at the end of the day to retreat back up north to the beauty and tranquility, and sort of "local-ness" of Famara. There's an amazing mountain drive to Haria you can do, and then drop down onto the north-east coast to a sweet tiny beach called Playa Garita where the somewhat hippy-ish beach tapas bar plays lovely old tunes and the kids can play on the very gentle beach under your eye while you munch away. All the way down to the southern tip is Papagayo which looks tropical! Several tiny beaches, in a National Park with a small entry fee (3 euros at time of writing, Nov 08), reached from the cliff top, such still crystal clear water, especially compared to the wild surf of Famara, and warm golden sands.
Our kids are fairly fussy eaters so they ate a lot of pizza which luckily is in plentiful cheap supply in most restaurants. We ate at home too, and the kitchen is well-stocked enough to allow for spaghetti bolognese, roast chicken and meatballs! When out we ate lots of great tapas and paella. Try some local wine - we loved it! The vineyards are a great drive, like nothing you'll ever have seen before... Taking account of the windy climate, the ground-hugging vines are set into craters in the black earth, sometimes with little black-stone crescent walls around them.
As you can tell, we loved it, our kids loved it, and nothing beats winter sun, sea, sky... Bliss!

I rented this property based on the photos I saw on the website and was not disappointed! The apartment was very clean, spacious and comfortable and the views in the garden were spectacular! The apartment was very well stocked, we arrived quite late in the evenings and was very nice to already have some cold beers in the fridge! We spent alot of time in the garden, there were lounge chairs in the shade on the terrace for when the sun got too hot and a bbq and outdoor dining for the evenings. My husband is an avid surfer and being able to see the surf out our window meant that he could take the walk down the hill for a quick surf in the mornings. The owners lived upstairs and were very freindly, they gave us our space to enjoy our holiday but were always on hand if we needed anything or had any questions. I would highly recommend this accommodation!

What a place! Nestled under the stunning back drop of huge cliffs & looking out to one of the most stunning beaches I have ever visited, I was delighted to have found this little piece of paradise.
Unfortunately, my husband was called away to work at short notice & I was concerned the kids would not enjoy the holiday so much. Luckily my teenage boys were more than happy learning to surf at one of the local schools which was an added bonus, something they could never have done where we live. The apartment itself is lovely, with the extra comforts of books, board games, DVD´s. Shop & bar close at hand, pool at the end of the garden, amazing views. Not a dull moment. My only complaint the holiday went too quickly, however, we have already booked again for next year.

The Famara beach apartment was just what we were looking for and we really enjoyed out stay there. The apartment itself was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed to make our holiday totally relaxing - especially the cold beer in the fridge on arrival which was a sight for sore eyes! Even though the owners live next door, the apartment was totally private and we were able to relax completely in the knowledge that if we did need something then help was at hand.

The location is superb being just a few minutes walk to one of the best and most dramatic beaches we've ever visited. There's a small shop very close by and the local town has restaurants, bars and a couple of larger shops.

We'd have no hesitation in recommending the apartment to anyone looking for a totally relaxing holiday.

A fab rental apartment. All the mod cons - it is like being at home! It is very relaxing. The view of the Famara beach is fantastic and a great place to kite surf!

The garden is great, plenty of room and all the facilities to have a bbq.

Famara is a great place, very chilled, though there is so much to do out in Lanzarote - good food, places to shop - I have been there twice now and haven't even got close to doing all the things I would like to do!

You won't be dissapointed!

All the best,

I'll start off by saying this was without doubt the best holiday our family has ever had, fantastic location, fabulous accommodation with beautiful views and Lynne, Paul and family were very friendly and helpful.
We arrived at the villa late at night starving and thirsty to find that Lynne had stocked the fridge with essentials (bread, milk, eggs etc)for our arrival plus a six pack of ice cold beer and a bottle of wine!!!!!! The apartment itself is fab with all the mod cons and a well stocked video, DVD library and loads of books that others have left behind plus a stereo, it's like a home from home and really comfortable and well furnished. If you surf this place is paradise, if you dislike the normal tourist haunts, high rise hotels, time share touts etc this place is paradise and if your a sun worshipper the beach is amazing....Not one moan from my two teenage boys for the fortnight we were there says it all......Fantastic.
Kevin Keenan and family

The location is absolutely spectacular with unobstructed views of the beach, beautiful cliffs and setting sun, easy access to the fantastic Famara Beach and also within walking distance of the local fish restaurants and surf shops in Caleta de Famara. The apartment itself was very comfortable and homely furnished including all the basics plus some of the extras that made our stay particularly pleasurable such as the stereo, DVD player, barbecue, garden, outside dining table and even trampoline! We were both blown away by our idyllic stay.

We had a fabulous time staying in your apartment in Famara. We found it to be very clean and well equipped with plenty of games and gadgets to keep the kids and us amused. We would have no hesitation in repeat booking with you in the future and would recommend you to family and friends without reservation.

The Famara bungalows are very special and this one no exception. Accommodation is spacious and fresh with decor and furniture which reflect the tranquil beach house feel. The patio and garden make outside living a treat and the views to the village of Caleta de Famara, the ocean and the surrounding countryside are panoramic and truly beautiful. The responsive and friendly landlords have made this a home from home for us and we shall return many times.

We travelled to Famara in October 2007 for some sun and plenty of surfing and I don't think we could have chosen our accommodation any better ! Literally a few minutes walk to the beach with an amazing view out accross the coastline we were delighted. Plenty of space and privacy - we'll definately be heading back soon.

I would like to say that the week we spent in your house in Famara was really good. The kids had great fun on the beach and in the garden. The landscape was wonderful and the family enjoied a lot to have dinner and breakfast outside. The house was confortable and corresponded to those displayed on the web site. Actually I would say that it was better than the photos on the web site (which cannot transmit the real dimension and light of the gulf).
Famara is a little bit out of the crowd of the other places of Lanzarote; that was really charming and my kids (one of 6 and the other of 12) were so happy of the place that when we moved to another villa in the south, all the family was absolutely determined to ask you to allow us another week of rent. Unfortunately the villa was already rented. I would suggest to rent this villa for a couple of weeks; it is a nice place for rest. Finally, in Famara you could start to understand how beautiful is kite-surf.

The apartment is in a fantastic location with stunning views to the sea and National Park. Clean, spacious and well equipped we would highly recommend for a memorable stay in Lanzarote.
